Spring Is In The Air!
With the nice weather our flowers are coming up like crazy. I can't wait for the blooms to start showing up around here.

I am currently in the process of knitting The Seville Jacket by Oat Couture. I will be teaching a class at Ewe To You Yarns in Grand Blanc, Michigan starting May 7th. If you are interested please call or come in to sign up!

I have been doing a lot of spinning in the last few months and now I am in the process of knitting up the yarn. I have several projects going at the moment. Felted Bag, Sweater for my Grandson, Socks for myself, two Shawls for my Granddaughter. The shawls are finished and will be mailed to her because she loves getting mail! I am sure that will change when she is older and the bills show up! ;-)

We are looking for a new place to live. We have been considering moving out of state and are trying to work out a transfer for John to Columbus, Ohio. We have been down there and love the area. Hopefully we'll here something in the coming months.

Well, time to knit and get off the computer! Have a great week!

Ewe to You Sock club
I signed up for the "Ewe to You Yarns" sock club. I am working on the first sock which is an anklet. My mother tells me that she will wear it but she has never worn handknit socks so we'll see about it.

In the spirit of the sock club I purchased Cookie a.'s new sock book "Sock Innovation" and also Cat Bordhi's "New Pathways for Sock Knitters" book one which I have been wanting to get. I purchased them at Ewe to You Yarns in Grand Blanc Michigan.

I need to get this sock done because the next sock kit will soon be sent out!

Freezing!
We froze most of the day yesterday and today. Our furnace has decided not to work. It was suppose to be fixed by Blessing Plumbing and Heating but apparently they need more training. What they said it was, it wasn't. John fixed it and we're going to fight them to get some of our money back.

Yeah!
I am done with my bookwork for my medical assistant program and am doing my externship at Silverton Skin Institute in Grand Blanc. I have finished my first week and really like it there. I am hoping that there will be an opening there when my externship is done. Now I finally have time to get back to my knitting and spinning. My grandson is due in just 3 weeks and I haven't even started knitting anything. Hopefully I willl get something knit before he is born. Its going to be a close race.

Thats it for now. Maybe I will be able to get some blogging done now that this part of my education is done. I have to get signed up for the Pre-med program at U of M. I am going to try to get my PA (Physicians Assistant) license. Looks like a long haul with having to work full-time while in school. Wish me luck!

Spinning
I have been spinning sock yarn or at least trying to spin it. I believe that I have the correct thickness for a 2 ply yarn. I'll know more when I go to knit it up.

Whats on my wheel right now is my second attempt at sock yarn. The first one came out fine except it isn't as soft as I expected. I am going to try washing it in conditioner to see if it helps. Pictures later.

Monkey Socks Again!
I had to tear out the Monkey Socks because they were way to large on size 2 needles. I noticed that others had knitted them on 1's too. Does this mean they are suppose to be knitted on them?

I had most of the leg already done when realizing that it was way to large. Back to the drawing board hopefully for the last time.

Yeah! Lady Bug Spinning Wheel Arrived!

My spinning wheel arrived on Thursday. It only took 15 minutes to put together. I love it! I am trying to spin singles for a 2ply sock yarn. We'll see how it goes. I haven't been able to get the right size for the singles yet. I can spin fairly even but can't quite seem to gauge the size I am going to need. I guess more practice is in need.

Will
Just keep spinning, spinning, spinning!
