JaWoll Socks
I am in the process of knitting me a pair of socks with JaWoll. I am using size US 1s. Normally I use "0's" with this yarn. I am trying to get these socks to the point of the class that I am teaching. I am doing 2 at a time on 2 circulars. I am to the heel flap which for me is the slowest part. Should go fast after the the heel. The second class isn't until next Thursday so I should be fine.

I start teaching a beginning class on Tuesday. I am using a dishcloth so that we can go through the basic stitches and have a finished project at the end of the 2/2hour classes. I have found that it seems to please the students to have something finished instead of leaving a beginning class with nothing but a swatch. If there is time, we will go into more stitches and talk about future projects. So keep me in your thoughts.

Back Teaching!
I taught my first knitting class in 6 months! I am teaching beginning socks on two circulars. It was so great to be back teaching. Its what I really enjoy doing. Class went great and everyone had a good time and learned what was planned. Second class is next week and I can't wait!

Back to the classroom and glad I'm there! Come see me at "Ewe To You Yarn" in Grand Blanc!

Wating...
Well, I have been waiting since 8:00 am this morning for our Workman's Compensation audit guy to show up here at our home which is where my trucking companie's office is located. They gave me a span of 8:00am to 12:00pm. I woke up at 6:30am so it will be my luck that he won't show up until 12:00pm. They don't seem to care that people have other things to do. If he isn't here by 12:00, I am out of here. I have so much to do today. I am dropping a video of our church's music service off at the church, go to the knit shop and work on the sock demo for the sock class that I am teaching starting tonight.

Arrrgh! I hate this!

Knit Classes
I am busy working away on demos for my students. I have a sock class starting on May 23rd and another one starting on May 24th. I also have a beginning knit class starting on May 29th at 2:oo pm and another one at 4:00 pm. I have taught plenty of these classes so I am not expecting anything dramatic to happen. Although you never know when someone will surprise you with a question that you wouldn't expect.

I have been listening to Pointy Stick's podcast today and have really enjoyed it. I listen to several different knitting podcasts and so far, have enjoyed them all. Here are a few of them. "Cast On, Pointy Sticks, Knitting News Cast, Its a Purl, Man, Knit Picks, Stash and Burn" I don't know if that is all of them or not. I have to look on my iPod in order to remember the rest of them. If you have an iPod they make great traveling shows or you can listen to them on your computer. I tend to only have time to listen when I am in my car. Give them a try. I think you will find some very useful information.

Well, time to get back to my knitting! After all, that is why I breathe!

Sock Projects
Well it appears that I didn't feel I had enough sock yarn. I have added yet more to my stash. I purchased one ball of Tofutsie, three balls of Jawoll, and one of Kollage's PoP! I am going to make my granddaughter a pair of socks using the Pop for the ruffle on the cuff. The rest of the sock will be done with Jawoll in a matching color.

I am also starting a sock on 2 circulars to use as a demo in a class I am teaching. I guess I should've had it started by now. The class is in two days so I know what I will be doing tomorrow.

Well off to bed!

Back Again!
I was locked out for a while because of the spambot thinking I was a spammer. Go figure. Blogger did take care of it the first workday. The lockout happened Saturday and they fixed it tonight. I guess that isn't too bad.

Its a Purl, Man
I have been listening to this podcast for several days now. I have downloaded all of his episodes to my iPod and have been thoroughly enjoying them. He has knitting guests on all the time. His podcast is entertaining, informative, and down right hilarious! He usually covers a different topic on every episode and discusses what he has been working on. You will enjoy listening to him. You can download his podcast through iTunes or you can listen to his podcast on his blog.

Today's Events
Well today I get to actually spend some time knitting. I am working on a jacket by Oak Couture. It is called "The Seville Jacket". I am knitting for the new shop in Grand Blanc, Michigan. It is a long sleeve, short jacket, with a cable trim around the cuff and all the edges around the jacket. I am using Nature's Cotton, color Putty. It is 100% cotton chunky, thick & thin. I am knitting it with Addi Turbos Circs size 9 for the cabling and 10 for the body. I will post pictures when it is finished.

I am also knitting a pair of ankle socks for my daughter using Trekking sock yarn color 135. It has a real bright colorway. I am knitting it on "0s" because I like the smoothness the "0s" give. Once these socks are finished, I start knitting on socks for the "Socks For Soldiers" program. There information can be found at:

EWE TO YOU YARNS - GRAND BLANC, MICHIGAN
Grand Blanc, Michigan now has a yarn shop! "Ewe To You Yarns" is located at 11225 Saginaw Street in "The Old World Village" at Center Rd. and Saginaw Street. Turn in the plaza, go down towards the end. They are two doors before the Mexican restaurant which is also good! This shop is owned by my friend Cathy Mashburn. The shop has friendly and experienced staff, which sometimes is hard to find. Guaranteed to be a favorite among knitters.

Socks, Socks, Socks!
My new phase in knitting is socks. I can use dpns but am not real fond of them. I was so excited when I learned how to knit them on 2 circulars. I will still knit them on dpns some times but it is nice to be able to knit them 2 at a time. I don't have to worry that I might make one bigger than the other or that I will get one done and never finish the other one.

I knitted these socks for our grandson but by the time we finally got them to him, he had out grown them. I am going to donate them to someone and make them again. I have plenty of the yarn left over.
